Thank you for your interest in joining the 2023 GEM team!



Since 2013, the Girls Empowerment Movement (GEM) (www.peelgems.com) has provided leadership, mentorship, and empowerment opportunities to youth in the Peel Region. GEM is dedicated to cultivating community-level skill-building opportunities, knowledge sharing, and safe spaces for youth, especially for racialized young women and gender-diverse individuals in the Peel Region. Through our work, we have hosted more than 35 initiatives, cultivated a network of over 100 GEMs, and we have engaged over 1,500 young people.



GEM is looking for new volunteer members to join our team including in areas like organizational development; multimedia and communications; programming and initiatives; and, community collaborations and advocacy.

Being a part of the GEM team means you will connect with a diverse community and meaningfully contribute to growing the capacity of a youth-led organization, gain mentorship opportunities, and further develop your skills and knowledge in community organizing.
