About the event
The Girls Empowerment Movement (GEM) is proud to present our first ever online event, SculptHER, a FREE event focused on unpacking and dismantling the impacts of gender inequity within media.
Join us for an interactive Zoom session discussing ideal body representations within media, later followed by creating clay sculptures or vision boarding to display perspectives of bodies. There will also be a session led by guest speaker, Jam Gamble, CEO of Slay the Mic Program.
We welcome young women & gender non-conforming (GNC) folks (ages 13-25) of all identities and abilities to attend this event! There are a limited number of tickets due to management purposes. If you can no longer attend, please kindly let us know so we can ensure those on the waitlist and interested can attend. Volunteer hours can be provided on request. GEM is an open and inclusive organization. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
This event is brought to you thanks to the Daughters of the Vote - Rosemary Speirs Leadership and support from Rapport Youth & Family Services.
Please Note: The Clay Sculpting / Vision Boarding requires materials for participation. Please let us know if we can financially support you in acquiring these materials.
